Buying guide

Before you order heating & cooling

What’s in this department

Furnace and air conditioner replacement parts — capacitors, blower and inducer motors, control boards, limit and pressure switches, ignitors, flame sensors, relays, contactors and transformers — thermostats, roof, ridge, gable, soffit and crawl-space vents, wall and propane heaters, electric floor heating, water heater elements and anode rods, and outdoor heating: fire pits and fire tables, patio heaters, outdoor fireplaces, chimineas and tiki torches.

How it’s sold

Parts, thermostats, vents and heaters are sold each, or by the pack where the listing says so.

What to check before you buy
  • The part number on the part you’re replacing, or the equipment’s model and serial number
  • Capacitors: the microfarad (MFD) rating and the voltage
  • Motors: horsepower, voltage, speed (RPM), rotation and shaft size
  • Thermostats: your system type (gas, electric, heat pump, single or multi-stage) and whether it needs a C-wire
  • Heaters: fuel (electric, natural gas or propane), vented or vent-free, and the area it heats
How to calculate quantity

Order one replacement for each failed part, matched by its rating. For attic vents, a common rule is 1 sq ft of net free vent area per 150 sq ft of attic floor (1 per 300 with balanced intake and exhaust); use the vent maker’s stated net free area and your local code.

Quick answers

How do I choose a replacement capacitor?

Match the microfarad rating (MFD or µF) printed on the old capacitor, and use the same voltage rating or higher, never lower. A dual run capacitor carries two ratings, such as 45/5 MFD: one for the compressor and one for the fan.

Will this thermostat work with my system?

Check the system types the listing names (gas, electric, heat pump, single or multi-stage) against your equipment, and whether it needs a common wire (C-wire). Electric baseboard and wall heaters use line-voltage thermostats, a different type.

What is the difference between vented and vent-free gas heaters?

A vented heater sends combustion gases outside through a flue or wall vent. A vent-free heater burns in the room and needs enough fresh air, and some states and cities restrict them. Check the listing and your local code.

Is there a minimum order?

Online orders have a $399 minimum. All orders are subject to approval. You're not charged until your order is approved and ready to ship. Cancel free before then.

Where do you ship, and how is delivery charged?

Super Arbor ships to the 48 contiguous states. Delivery and taxes are calculated at checkout.
