Expert Verdict — Reviewed by the SuperArbor Pro Desk
Cortex systems are the standard way to get a fastener-free look on trim: set screws to consistent depth, insert plugs flush, and plan box quantities from actual linear footage plus waste. Choose the 2-3/4 in. screw where framing or substrate depth demands more embedment. Match the product to Boral smooth trim as listed rather than mixing fastener systems.
Wear eye protection when driving fasteners and follow the fastener manufacturer's installation instructions.
