This aluminum step flashing forms a water barrier where roof shingles meet a side wall, and is used to produce step flashing around chimneys, dormers and roof-to-wall applications. It is easy to bend, cut and shape, with rust-free aluminum construction plus UV stabilizers for durability. Available in 5 in. x 7 in., 6 in. x 8 in. and 8 in. x 10 in. pieces in mill and brown/black, sold per piece or bundle.
Coverage & How Much You Need
Each piece forms one step along the shingle course; installed on the fascia or wall with nails, pieces overlap each course. Estimate one piece per shingle course along the wall transition, then order 5-10% extra for cuts.
Fit and Compatibility
Used where standard roof shingles meet a side wall, and around chimneys, dormers and skylights. Roofing nails are sold separately; the aluminum bends easily by hand or with a bending brake.
