Expert Verdict — Reviewed by the SuperArbor Pro Desk
Match the flashing to both the roof covering and the tube diameter—using the correct Solatube flashing for the roof type is what keeps the installation watertight and warranty-compliant. Install the flashing with the roof covering course sequence, lapping the uphill side properly, before setting the tube. On steep-slope shingle roofs, follow the manufacturer's installation guide for fastener placement so the flashing is not nailed through the optical dome opening.
Wear fall protection and follow ladder and roof-safety practices when installing roof-mounted flashing, and keep the optical dome covered until final assembly.
