Metal Sales aluminum prebent step flashing adds a layer of weather protection where roofs meet walls, chimneys, skylights and dormers. Made of rust-resistant aluminum that is easy to bend, cut and shape, it comes in preformed bends from 2-1/2 in. x 2-1/2 in. x 7 in. up to 5 in. x 5 in. x 8 in. Nine color/size items are listed on this page in Mill, Brown, Black, Bronze and Terratone Bronze, sold per piece or by bundle.
Coverage & How Much You Need
Each preformed piece flashes one shingle course at a wall or penetration, installed shingle-over with each successive course. Estimate one piece per shingle course along the intersection, typically 16 in. to 24 in. of wall per piece depending on shingle exposure.
Fit and Compatibility
Use with asphalt shingle or metal roof systems where a roof plane meets a vertical wall, chimney, skylight or dormer. Works alongside Metal Sales apron, drip edge and other flashing profiles; counter-flashing and sealants are sold separately.
