Buying guide

Before you order hardware

What’s in this department

Door locks and handles, cabinet hardware, barn door and garage door hardware, window and screen hardware, bath hardware sets, mailboxes, gate hardware, tie-downs and straps, rope, chain and pulleys, and sheet metal and bar stock.

How it’s sold

Sold each, as a set, or by the pack; pack quantities are stated in the title or options.

What to check before you buy
  • Door thickness and backset for locks (often 2-3/8 or 2-3/4 in.)
  • Center-to-center spacing for cabinet pulls
  • Finish across a room or house
  • Fastener size, material and coating for the application
  • Pack quantity
How to calculate quantity

Count each door by the function it needs — passage, privacy, keyed entry or deadbolt — then pulls and knobs per drawer and door, and fasteners at the manufacturer’s spacing.

Quick answers

How do I measure the backset for a door lock?

Measure from the edge of the door to the center of the bore hole. Common backsets are 2-3/8 in. and 2-3/4 in., and many locks adjust to both. Check the listing.

How do I measure cabinet pulls?

Measure center to center between the two screw holes. Replacement pulls need the same spacing unless you plan to fill and redrill the holes.

What is the difference between passage, privacy and keyed entry locks?

Passage knobs and levers do not lock. Privacy locks from the inside, for bedrooms and bathrooms. Keyed entry locks with a key from the outside. Listings state the function.

Is there a minimum order?

Online orders have a $399 minimum. All orders are subject to approval. You're not charged until your order is approved and ready to ship. Cancel free before then.

Where do you ship, and how is delivery charged?

Super Arbor ships to the 48 contiguous states. Delivery and taxes are calculated at checkout.
