Quick answers
Will this breaker fit my panel?
Breakers are listed for specific panel brands and types. Check the label inside your panel door and match the breaker brand, type, amperage and number of poles.
What wire gauge do I need for a 20-amp circuit?
For typical copper branch circuits, 12 AWG is used on 20 A circuits and 14 AWG on 15 A circuits. Long runs and other conditions can call for a larger wire. Follow your local electrical code.
Where do I need GFCI outlets?
Electrical codes require GFCI protection in locations such as bathrooms, kitchens, garages and outdoors. Requirements vary by code edition, so check your local code.
