The Bilco LadderUP Safety Post (LU-1) is a steel telescoping grab bar that mounts above a fixed ladder to provide a steady handhold when exiting through a roof hatch. It carries a black powder-coated finish and is sold as one post per unit. It pairs with Bilco roof hatches and fixed ladders.

Measure before you order

New construction: the rough opening
Order by the framed opening. Every window here that lists both sizes is 1/2 in smaller than its rough opening each way: a 36 × 48 opening takes a 35-1/2 × 47-1/2 window.

Replacement: the frame you have
Measure inside the old frame, jamb to jamb, at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest width. Do the same for the height, left, center and right.
