The Bilco LadderUP Safety Post (LU-1) is a steel telescoping grab bar that mounts at the top of a fixed ladder to provide a steady handhold when climbing through a roof hatch. It has a yellow powder-coated finish and is sold as one post per unit. It pairs with Bilco roof hatches and fixed ladders.
Fit and Compatibility
Designed for use with Bilco roof hatches and fixed vertical ladders; the post telescopes above the hatch opening. Mounting hardware and compatible hatch or ladder are required for a complete installation.

Measure before you order

New construction: the rough opening
Order by the framed opening. Every window here that lists both sizes is 1/2 in smaller than its rough opening each way: a 36 × 48 opening takes a 35-1/2 × 47-1/2 window.

Replacement: the frame you have
Measure inside the old frame, jamb to jamb, at the top, middle and bottom, and use the smallest width. Do the same for the height, left, center and right.
