Expert Verdict — Reviewed by the SuperArbor Pro Desk
Self-adhesive ice and water underlayment is most valuable at eaves, valleys and other leak-prone areas where water can back up under the primary roofing. The extra heavy fiberglass mat reinforcement improves tear resistance during installation, and the textured mat face aids footing on sloped decks. Apply to a clean, dry deck within the manufacturer's temperature range and maintain proper laps to preserve the seal.
Wear slip-resistant footwear when walking on the exposed mat surface, keep roof deck surfaces clean and dry, and follow standard roof-work fall protection practices.
